This is third email this week. I realize that is one too many, and I am sorry. I’ll keep it short. I promise!
Big Ask
I am experimenting with Substack and I want it to deliver the best experience to you. I am still learning, so please bear with me.
I’d really appreciate if you can respond to this email and let me know what you think of my recent emails.
You can simply hit respond to reply just like you would with a regular email, or shoot me an email directly to mike@madux.ca.
Please don’t hold back!
I’d love to hear your thoughts on the format, content. Anything you might have noticed will be helpful.
Also please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions you might have. I’d rather address the questions you have than send you stuff you might not be interested in.
Feel free to send in your case studies, portfolios, resumes — whatever you might want a senior designer take a look at. I am not charging anything for this.
I am here to help.
A personal monopoly
Last week after I sent my email about Competitive Advantage I came across an interview with Jack Butcher about building a personal monopoly.
Jack is a designer that runs Visualize Value. His personal monopoly is producing simple illustrations that convey deep ideas just like this one:
He offers a slightly different perspective on the same idea of competitive advantage. He talks about it in terms of starting your own business, but the ideas apply beyond that.
Check out his article here, or full interview here (it is a bit over 1.5 hours long).
Cheers,
Michael
